Tip!

Times have been really hard in Sri Lanka. Everywhere you will meet people desperate to make a living and they will do anything to help you. Meals in restaurants are cheap by western standards so be generous with the tips. A driver and car is really cheap - help out by tipping well - by western standards its next to nothing. If you visit temples, the elephant orphanage, go on safari, give a good tip - the guides are really helpful, informative and pleased to see you. This is their living so you should tip well.
