Browsing at the Nachalat Binyamin market 

If you like shopping for original artwork, arts and crafts, and jewelery, check out the Nachalat Binyamin market. Located off Allenby Street, one of the main roads that go inward from the beach (west to east), the market is the perfect place for buying presents for people back home. There are prices for every pocket, depending on the quality of the product you're buying. There are also lots of cafes, restaurants and juicebars located throughout the market to quench the deepest shopping-induced thirst.

Nachalat Binyamin runs every Tuesday and Friday from about 10am onwards. You can walk there from the beach (10-15 minutes uphill), jump on a bus, or get a cab driver to take you there. Well worth a visit if you have the time to browse for a couple of hours. Where Nachalat Binyamin ends, the Carmel Market ("Shuk Hacarmel") begins. This is a bustling people's market, where you can buy anything from t-shirts and shoes, to fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. If you're in a self-catering place, well worth buying your fresh produce here, as it's both cheap and generally high quality stuff. On the other side of Allenby is Sheinkin Street - a trendy street full of coffee bars and boutiques.

Museums

The Tel Aviv Museum of Art is located in the heart of Tel Aviv on Shaul Hamelech Street, just east of Eben Gvirol Street. A beautiful museum featuring modern, contemporary and classic art, as well as photos and sculptures, presenting Israeli art over the years.  They also have regular temporary exhibitions.
