            Taxis are a good way of getting around the immediate city of Aswan.  Fares are based on meters, which should be standard for all taxis, but are not always used.  The other option for determining fares is negotiation.  Either way, make sure that a meter is running or a price has been agreed upon before beginning a journey.  Taxis can be found everywhere, but many drivers do not speak English.
