Venezuela has 4 distinctive geographical regions-Andes, Caribbean coast, Llanos (plains) and Amazonian Basin. In each region people are different:

    • Caribbean coast:, people tend to be very open and spontaneous. Women wear sexy clothes. Parties go until late at night. People talk louder. Travelers from other cultures might find their behavior offensive and the locals won't have any problem snapping at you at the slightest comment that they would consider criticism.
    •   Andes : more mellow than the people from the coast. Most tend to be shy and reserved, but also very formal and well mannered. Women tend to dress in a more discrete fashion. Easier and clearer accent.
    • Llanos-more of a cowboy culture. Very nationalistic and proud of their music. Family ties are extremely important for the " llaneros". Considered to be the most macho of all Venezuelan men.
    • Amazonian Basin-mostly inhabited by indigenous people. They tend to be very reserved. During centuries they have tried to preserve their language and ancient traditions.
