Entertainment  in Atlantic City : For The 30 And Over Crowd !

There’s plenty for the over and 30 crowd to do in Atlantic City besides gamble and eat . Of course there’s the shows at all the Casinos . Sometimes they are great for the over and 30 crowd . In 2005 The Hilton Casino had Olivia Newton John , and on another night ; Petula Clark . House of Blues at Showboat had a great show with B.B. King and another featuring the 30 year reunion of the Outlaws . You have to check with the casino sites or ticket selling sites on a regular basis to make sure you don’t miss out .

Feel like dressing up a bit and not feeling either overdressed or "crusin’ with young ones" ?  There are plenty of lounges in the casinos which feature top 40 type bands playing Oldies , Disco , Rock, & Current hits . The Dizzy Dolphin at the Hilton , The Liquid Bar at Trump Plaza and The Mountain Bar at The Wild West are favorites for the older crowd . The Mountain bar often features Bill Turner & Blue Smoke . Bill was a  former guitarist for Bill Haley and the Comets . Tiffany Lounge at Tropicanna and The Eden Lounge have intimate dance floors . The Eden often features top 40 show type bands visiting from Canada . They also have bartenders "building" great martinins by pouring "pyramids" of them .The Tropicanna also has a Piano Bar which often features campy torch singer Beth Tinon . The Sands has the popular Copa show lounge on the second level of the casino and the much less dressy Swinger’s Lounge on the first level .

There are the seasonal places such as the Beach Bars . Bally's Beach Bar often has a band there with an all age draw . The Plaza and the Hilton also have beach bars with live music and a mixed age crowd.

Speaking of all age places ; The Trump Marina’s Wave Club is well known for it’s all age appeal . They feature top end bands with a DJ inbetween sets . This club has a dance floor and two bars . Another all age place is Caligula’s Club on S.Florida Ave . It is only open on Saturday Nights but features food , dancing and a "Couples Only/On Premises" atmosphere . Club 10 , just on the other side of Rt 30 under the Parkway in Absecon , is another place that gets a mixed age crowd . For just siting back with a drink , good inexpensive food and some fun music you can check out the Irish Pub ,one of those mainstays of AC . It's on St. James Place , just a bit off the boardwalk .The Surfside Complex on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. has a very mixed bag of places . The Studio Six Gay Club has a very mixed age clientle . It is connected to the Club Tru , a NYC type Disco popular with 25 to 35 year old guys and girls . This provides an interesting mix and it’s open till dawn . There is also a very mixed , intimate piano bar in the Surfside Hotel . Just in the mood for Margaritas ? Head over to Los Amigos where you can kick back with a pitcherful in a laid back atmosphere .It is just accross the street from the new Bus Depot .  Two other places not in casinos are OPA , and Ozone . OPA specializes in Greek food and entertainment ( boardwalk near Sands) . The Ozone ( Flagship Resort) is at the far north end of town . It has a fun atomsphere , Kareoke , and a great view of the bay and Atlantic City Casinos .

Just over the bridge onto Brigantine Island is Steak 38 and Mickey’s Raw Bar . The "38’s" lounge always has a fun older crowd dancing to the live music . Mickey’s often has special events . A bit further into the island you’ll find the Laguna Inn at the Celebrity Resort . They have a Martini Bar with a nice dance floor and a band on the weekends . There is also another younger bar on the ocean side of the Celebrity with Kareoke , DJ or band . They also have a small game room with a pool table . It’s just a short walk from the Martini Lounge’s dance floor .
