For cheap eats in Key West, I have several recommendations:
-Pizza: Big John's Pizza & Subs: Good pizza-by-the-slice, and two locations; one off Duval and one on Roosevelt street by Winn Dixie. Good tasy New York style pizza. Upper Crust on Duvall has excellent pizza sold by the slice. Large serving for $4.00 and up.
-Cuban food: El Siboney (900 Catherine St.) Tasty Cuban soul food; excellent and rich flavors, and kid-firendly. CASH ONLY! You'll leave with a bely full of plantains, rice black beans, and whatever protein you like. Delish!
-Sandwiches: Subs at Albertson's (the grocery store) are good-sized... the mixed Italian is ~$5-6, and makes a good lunch and dinner, especially when paired with a six-pack from the cold case. Good bread!
-Fish: BO's Fish Wagon (801 Caroline St.) is a dump, but with tasty food. It's pushing the limit of cheap, though...a sandwich and a beer or two will come close to eating up a $20. Good fresh fish, and friendy folks.
-Buy One Get One (BOBO'S): 934 Truman Ave. Tasty food with pizzas, hot/cold sandwiches, wings, etc. for two people. Dinner for two $14.95. Plus great pizza; you get two pies with one topping for $14.95. What great deals and they deliver too!
-Lobos for good inexpensive wraps. Each is big enough for 2 to share!
