While Carson City is no where near places like New York in terms of theatre, there is still a small contingent of theatres that put on shows for the local and visiting audiences. One of the places in Carson City that features performing arts is the Brewery Arts Center. This venue features arts, music, as well as theatrical performances of both traditional and new-age plays. If you are going to be near Carson City for an extended period of time, you can buy a season pass for all plays being performed at the theatre, or you can just buy individual tickets, although it is cheaper to buy the season pass if you will be around for a long time. Other than plays there are other things you can do in town. Taking in a rodeo is always fun for the family, and it is usually a pretty inexpensive outing. Also, keep checking the listings at the local casinos. Often times these casinos bring in musicians and other acts like magicians and other entertainers. Sometimes the shows can be a bit pricey, but they also have different shows, so it's a good idea to keep checking.
