After 25 years in Albuquerque, Sadie's is still some of the very best New Mexican food in town. The carne advoada is legendary, if a bit incindary. A couple of others come close (Los Cuates& El Norteno).
The portions are huge (More than most can eat at one sitting) ...nearly everyone leaves with a carry-out container or two. Ninety-nine percent of the time the service is flawless & the waitstaff is friendly & helpful.....a miracle in such a busy local, favorite local hangout. The grilled queso is superb....as are the papitas & the chile rellenos. The green chile cheesburger with chips sets the standard for the rest of the state. All are very regular diners at Sadie's for all of the above reasons (The house margaritas are quite fine....unlike many of the other Mexican restaurants.. which short-shot you on the tequila). Sadie must be proud that her family has maintained the tradition of great food for good value. There is a good reason why Sadie's has been a local favorite for so many years....and why the same people are there over and over again. Even compared to some of the ritzy, expensive New Mexican restaurants in Santa Fe & Albuquerque, It is possible to suggest that you can't beat the decor & that Sadie's will feed you well for a very good price
