I was a business traveler for a low cost carrier for 5 years, which means I’m use to staying in less than lavish places. While I don't book the Ritz Carlton I still have a certain level of expectations. My favorite low cost (well sometimes) chain hotel is the Holiday Inn Express. They are very consistent and are great for business travel or leisure travel. Although cost is important, it isn't everything. Safety is most important to me as well as cleanliness and service.
