I'm a college-educated, married woman with no kids, one dog and three cats. I'm a writer, business owner, and sales consultant by profession. Though I don't have kids, I am the oldest of four and may share my opinion about whether or not a place is suitable (or would even be enjoyable) for children. Also, my mom uses a wheelchair, so I may also mention whether or not a particular place is disability-friendly.

When I was younger I often traveled alone, staying in hostels. I found them to be generally clean, safe, and cheap. My husband is not keen on the hostel experience, so we generally look for clean, safe and cheap hotels, though we sometimes pay more than we'd like if, for example, the hotel is in a worthwhile location or if we can't find cheaper hotels that we judge clean and/or safe. I love to travel and want to be able to travel as much as possible, and keeping the cost of accommodations low allows me to do so more frequently. Plus, I never go on vacation with the idea that I'm just going to sit in the hotel - I like to see the sights.

My husband and I both love to eat, so eating out is usually a big part of our vacations. We try to balance the costs, but a nice meal is probably our greatest temptation. However, we've never paid more than $100 for a meal for the two of us.

Typical activities for our vacations include snorkeling, museums, aquariums, shopping, and, of course, eating.
